Where
Pinhey Sand Dunes, Slack Road area, Nepean, Ottawa
Spots

Help document the ongoing restoration of Ottawa's rare inland sand dune ecosystem. Bring any camera (phone works fine). Volunteers photograph the restoration work, plants, insects, and wildlife. Brigid (Photography Coordinator) will be on-site — look for her green volunteer vest, she always has a camera. Great outdoor role for students who want tangible visual proof of their volunteer hours.

Volunteer instructions

Meet at Brigid's tent — she wears a green volunteer vest and has a camera. Minimum age 12, but volunteers under 16 should bring a parent (they welcome family groups). Paperwork on-site for insurance purposes — arrive a few minutes early. Bring water, sunscreen, and closed shoes.
